Zwar's Emma Woodhouse, was an exceptionally good looking female from Pumpkin's 1999 litter. Emma was even more highly colored than her mum -a true redhead in areas where the Airedale coat is tan. So maybe she understood when I told her, repeatedly, that she was my prettiest girl. That may be why Emma had never met a camera she didn't like. Point one at her and she poses. That "Queen of the Prom" quality lights up photographs and did her well in a show campaign that saw her finish her Canadian Championship exceptionally quickly. Competing for the first time as an adult at the Red Deer and District Kennel Club show in late 2000, Emma won Best of Breed twice, after topping other females and taking the Best of Winners classes, then went on to complete her championship the following summer at the Calgary-area Evelyn Kenny Kennel and Obedience Club show. Can you keep them home on the farm after such a spin in the sun? Of course. The diva who thinks herself the star of stage, screen and show, turned out to be a doting, careful mum to her puppies. Her offspring have gone to homes as far away as London, Ontario and Denver, Colorado. |
